IT Security Application Engineer

Type: Permanent Full-Time

The IT Security Application Engineer will drive the application security lifecycle for application development offerings. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist IT teams, including application development, in the development of design documents, threat models
  • Consult with product teams to provide security best practices, secure design patterns.
  • Work to ensure proper secure coding standards are followed through ongoing security testing and code reviews
  • Assess the security of core platform infrastructure
  • Provide recommendations for hardening environments
  • Analyze incidents and security review findings to determine security impact
  • Drive the remediation of issues identified through internal and external security testing
  • Consult and provide information security direction and support on the implementation of information technology risk management strategy and operating priorities for application development security
  • Support the integration of the IT Security architecture, policies, and practices
  • Participate and lead projects, ensuring that security standards of technology and configuration are applied
  • Assist in providing oversight of the various operational systems used to manage, monitor and respond to various security events and incidents
  • Perform risk assessments on key IT processes or assets, identifing vulnerabilities and propose solutions to mitigate risk
  • Analyze and define information security requirements and solutions
  • Identify and recommend solutions to security exposures, upgrades, and contingency management planning and execution
  • Coordinate and conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
  • Support vulnerability and risk mitigation efforts
  • Support the resolution of Internal Audit, regulatory, or Risk Management
  • Work with IT areas in developing an effective self-assessment process
  • Assess, review, or design 3rd party partner integration services and interactions
  • Promote implementation of various security initiatives
  • Provide expert advice without formal supervisory responsibility
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • IT security (3-5 yrs)
  • Analytical (3-7 yrs)
  • Strong to Proficiency with .Net Frameworks, JAVA Classes, and System Development Lifecycle
  • Knowledge of security architecture
  • Experience with web application security (both Windows and Linux)
  • Experience conducting secure code reviews
  • Experience with vulnerability assessment and penetration testing
  • Excellent knowledge of Unix/Linux
  • Experience with databases (Oracle, MS SQL)
  • 4-year university or college degree
  • Sun Certified java Developer preferred
  • Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD), specializing in C# preferred
  • SOA-Security or Sun Certified Enterprise Architect preferred
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) preferred
