Our client has asked Bagg Technology Resources to assist them in finding a Director, Business Services. The Director, Business Services creates a positive team environment that promotes coaching, individual development and high-performance standards, and is responsible for career management and demonstrable growth of the people on his/her teams. He/she also contributes to the development of the Program Management Domain and community through training/mentoring others, knowledge sharing and leveraging of best practices.

The Director, Business Services will be accountable for delivery of large, and small-scale initiatives to our stakeholders as well as managing the client relationship from a delivery standpoint.

Key Responsibilities

  • Structures and manages integrated projects and programs to achieve expected business results
  • Manages large, complex projects/programs to an acceptable level of risk by balancing scope, time, cost and quality
  • Leads proposal efforts and can sell IT value proposition
  • Leads teams to deliver integrated client solutions that achieve measurable business results for our clients
  • Manages the financial aspects of all initiatives - costs, KPIs, etc.
  • Responsible for communications with our senior leadership team and communicates status and issues regularly
  • Identifying development opportunities for IT with our clients and leading our response efforts
  • Plans projects or work packages up front by leading the estimation efforts, collaboratively across all IT departments and 3rd party vendors
  • Mobilizes and manages a team to execute against project plans
  • Manages the growth and development of the project team, and the Project Services Sub-Department
  • Manage Business Lead Portfolios (projects and ad-hok requests)
  • Set standards for project management and development capabilities for the development team, focusing on Project Managers and Business Analysts
  • Develop project management practitioners and the function, sharing knowledge and industry best practices
  • Monitor compliance with policies and standards
  • Manage the Business Services’ organization, hiring, managing and staffing requirements in line with project objectives
  • Oversee the delegation of work to Project Managers, Business Analysts, Development and QA teams
  • Set annual performance targets for individuals and the team and conduct performance reviews
  • Provide ongoing motivation, coaching, guidance, feedback and mentoring support to the team
  • Manage the workload of team members on the program and help to remove obstacles to their success
  • Manage third-party vendors and agreements
  • Coordinate and conduct post-implementation reviews of projects with Project Managers, Business Analysts, and our business stakeholders
  • Track and provide project status and audit reports
  • Manage the risk, issue and change resolution process and work with other leaders to take corrective action as necessary
  • Oversee Project Managers and Business Analysts for the delivery of projects/programs on time, within scope and on budget
  • Ensure all program communications and status reporting to stakeholders and senior leadership is conducted on a regular basis
  • Coordinate the project prioritization process to provide business project managers and their executive leaders with the information they need to assess which proposals have the highest potential value, impact and strategic alignment
  • Interface regularly with business project managers and executive leaders to define project priorities and implementation opportunities and challenges
  • Keep leaders up-to-date with project opportunities and risks
  • Support the project pipeline by managing resource availability, capacity, and skill sets, and project costs.
  • All other duties as required.




  • Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Business (MBA) and/or Technology
  • More than 10+ years of experience as a Senior Project Manager or Program Manager with a proven track record of successful project delivery, an ability to improve project management practices by implementing new techniques and tools and substantial team leadership experience with a focus on team development
  • Project experience may include initiatives that span geographies or business lines, impact a significant number of employees and/or require reporting to shareholders
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders;
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion;
  • Experience in Health Care is preferred
  • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis;
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders;
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
  • Excellent communications are a must, within IT and across the business at all levels
