Project Control Officerr-12 Month Contract

Location: Mississauga


Our client, a major organization within the financial industry, has asked Bagg Technology Resources to assist them in finding a Project Control Officer to join their team on a contract basis. The Project Control Officer is expected to provide project management support to one or more projects/programs in execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Works under the guidance of Project Managers or Program Managers within IT.
  • Maintains and supports project information (paper and electronic: i.e. project plans, project status reports, project dashboards, project logs, steering committee review documentation, and others) as required.
  • Maintains project within IT SharePoint.
  • Monitors and tracks project schedules and budgets (at a high level) for projects based on input/data from project team members.
  • Provides analysis of project plans and status reports to the Project Managers and/or Program Managers assigned and flags issues, risks and weekly “to do’s” on projects.
  • Assists with the development and “enforcement” of the Client’s Project Management Methodology
  • Audits project information for accuracy & integrity and compliance with the Client’s Project Management Methodology
  • Participates in project meetings, recording action items, new issues/risks and task status information
  • Prepares and distributes minutes of meetings and project artifacts as required
  • Prepares and distributes project updates & reports
  • Understands and applies the processes and templates published by the Project Office
  • Assumes other administrative responsibilities as required (e.g. assist with presentation preparation for steering committee meetings, project reviews, project tool support, etc.)
  • Facilitates internal project meetings with cross functional teams where required
  • Other duties as required


  • 3-5 years’ experience as a Project Control Officer
  • Strong task management (Ensure milestones are met and control procedures are followed)
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills including the ability to solicit cooperation and resolve conflict
  • Excellent MS Project, Word, Excel, and Power Point skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Level 1 Certification in Project Management from a recognized PMI institution preferred
  • Functional knowledge in manipulation of databases, charts, and graphic tools
  • Demonstrated proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, MS Project, Power Point) and Sharepoint
  • Demonstrated proficiency/ experience ad a Project Control Office I preferred
