Our client, a leader in the insurance industry, has asked Bagg Technology Resources to assist them in finding an individual to join their reputable organization on a contract basis in Toronto. They are looking for a Senior Enterprise Data Management & Business Intelligence Solution Engineer (SE) with 10 years of continuous experience working with high-performing technical and business teams on large-scale, strategic Enterprise Data Management projects. The individual must possess exceptional communication skills and a deep understanding of the intrinsic value of operational and analytical data as an enterprise asset. In addition, the SE is a strategic thinker and bridge-builder that has a history of motivating key stakeholders to commit to enterprise data management programs and driving the initiatives to success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the overall DM & BI data delivery standards, strategy, and implementation guide which consist of baseline ITC Data Management Process Assets and detailed documentation on data development methodology centered on IBM Infosphere Information Server with Guidewire Insurance Suite, Oracle Exadata platform, and cloud IaaS and PaaS providers (e.g. Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, IBM Cloud) as core information assets
  • Work closely with business analytics and IT architecture teams to formalize foundational Data Services APIs
  • Assist with the overall DM & BI data delivery standards, strategy, and implementation guide which consist of baseline ITC Data Management Process Assets and detailed documentation on data development methodology centered on IBM Infosphere Information Server with Guidewire Insurance Suite, Oracle Exadata platform, and cloud IaaS and PaaS providers (e.g. Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, IBM Cloud) as core information assets
  • Work closely with business analytics and IT architecture teams to formalize foundational Data Services APIs
  • Work closely with developers to build proofs-of-concept that demonstrate:
  • The viability and repeatability of data management and data delivery design patterns in the areas of ETL, ELT, Data Services, and Data Event Management Frameworks
  • Containerized deployment and operation of data management tooling (e.g. IBM Information Server)
  • Data cleansing for critical data elements across core data domains
  • Data deduplication for person and non-person profiles
  • Work with infrastructure, security, networks, environments, QA, and production support teams to obtain approvals for approach to security and connectivity and submit requests as necessary for access, security setup, firewall rules, etc.
  • Deliver POCs with detailed documentation and present summary to the client’s Technical Leads and Management
  • Run design thinking workshops for IT and business analytics teams that focus on data delivery design patterns for IBM Information Server and related applications such as Guidewire Insurance Suite, Oracle Exadata platform, cloud IaaS and PaaS providers, and data integration technologies

Provide data management assessments for:

  • Planned hardware environments
  • Planned system upgrades
  • Planned major data fixes
  • Provide performance and design improvement recommendations as part of Data Management Assessments
  • Work closely with IIS Solution Engineers to review and formalize the documented multiyear IBM Info sphere

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience as a Program-level Data Management SME advising Senior Management and assisting (end-to-end from initial data mapping to cutover to legacy decommissioning) at least four, multiyear large-scale enterprise data projects in the fields of Master Data Management, Enterprise Data Warehousing, or Big Data Analytics in some combination of Public Sector, Insurance, and Banking.
  • Minimum 10 years of continuous experience in helping prepare technical project artifacts such as data-centric solution design documents, implementation strategy decks, data risk assessments, data security and infrastructure design as well as business focused deliverables such as business data requirements, data acceptance testing, data governance and stewardship requirements.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in senior data management and ERP migration roles within IT primarily helping assist, designing, building and helping implementing complex high-performance enterprise data solutions such as (but not limited to) Infospehere Information Server, Infosphere MDM AE/SE, Netezza, Informatica Data Integration, Oracle Exadata or like enterprise data delivery platforms.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a senior solution architect or designer capacity with ability to assist with leadership in order to provide guidance to develop, assist with coaching, mentoring and facilitating collaboration between highly-technical teams in a complex and dynamic environment to ensure delivery of service within timelines.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience designing, modeling, and implementing Data Services (SOAP/REST) APIs for market-leading CRM, Master Data Management, or Data Integration platforms
  • Minimum 6 years technical experience as a full-stack developer for IBM Infosphere Information Server v9.x and higher or Infosphere Master Data Management Server Advanced Edition v10.x and higher (UNIX/Linux, Websphere, Engine, DB2, MQ, ESB, MDM AE/SE and PME)
