Our client, a major global organization in the solutions industry, has asked Bagg Technology Resources to assist them in finding a Systems Engineer to join their team on a full-time permanent basis. The Systems Engineer will perform the tasks and duties to maintain a global system of servers and storage that hosts the client’s applications. The Systems Engineer will respond to support requests and incidents, troubleshoot to resolution and investigate root cause analysis.  They will recommend technical configurations and operations procedures to continually improve the performance of the client’s systems. The Systems Engineer will provide reports on the health of the server infrastructure, including security compliance and capacity management. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure, manage and support the client’s server and storage infrastructure to support business applications
  • Configure, manage and support server and storage hardware and firmware by designing standard configurations, maintaining currency, updating inventory and configuration databases, and responding to requests and incidents
  • Configure, manage and support operating systems by designing standard configurations, maintaining currency, updating inventory and configuration databases, and responding to requests and incidents
  • Configure, manage and support global virtualized and cloud business systems by designing standard configurations, maintaining currency, updating inventory and configuration databases, and responding to requests and incidents
  • Configure and manage patch updates and software deployment packages
  • Configure and manage automated monitoring for infrastructure and business applications
  • Support the Security Team to remediate vulnerabilities including zero day threats as they occur
  • Work with other teams to implement business and infrastructure projects – server and storage architecture, resource provisioning, software installations, application troubleshooting etc.
  • Create and maintain documentation, including standards, network diagrams, drawings and deployment plans
  • Participate in the troubleshooting and resolution of system and application incidents and problems
  • Analyze root cause for server and application problems
  • Share 7x24x365 on-call responsibilities with other team members
  • Provide infrastructure metrics for team and executive reporting.
  • Participate in infrastructure and application Disaster Recovery design, setup and testing exercises
  • Other duties may be assigned

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of operational experience working as a Systems Engineer in a mostly Windows Server environment
  • Ability to independently perform system support responsibilities for environment build and maintenance, on call support and change requests including outside of business hours
  • Expert knowledge of Windows server 2003 – 2016, Microsoft MCSE (Server Infrastructure) certification is an advantage
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory infrastructure – GPO management, OU structure management, multiple geographically dispersed domain controller management
  • Excellent knowledge of VMWare vCenter (5.1, 5.5, 6.5), certification is an advantage
  • Good knowledge of Citrix Presentation server 4.5 and XenApp (5.0, 7.6), certification is an advantage
  • Demonstrated experience of storage management (Netapp and EMC preferred)
  • Good experience working with Microsoft Distributed File System (DFS)
  • Good experience with monitoring tools, patch updates and software deployment packages (Solarwinds preferred, but not essential).
  • Experience implementing and administering common TCP/IP-based services, including DNS, DHCP, HTTP, SSH, SMTP
  • Experience with enterprise antivirus management (Kaspersky preferred but not essential)
  • Knowledge of installing and supporting Linux servers in a production environment
  • Knowledge of ITIL best practices
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery design, setup and testing exercises
  • Experience using incident management tools to document hardware and software defects and resolution

  • Experience using jQuery, Client Object Model, and Service Oriented Architecture
  • Experience with SharePoint’s application services framework including implementation, configuration, and usages of Search, Managed Metadata, and User Profile Services
  • Microsoft MCPD 70-576, SharePoint 2010/2013 Designing and Developing Applications certification is a plus but not required

  • Excellent experience in web security (session-based, token-based), certificate security, mitigating common vulnerabilities, and applying principles such as “defense in depth” and “fail securely”.
  • Excellent experience designing 3-tier architecture environments to support varied browsers, application servers, and various backend data sources. Skilled in the application of intermediary facilities such as reverse proxies, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Excellent experience in OOP (Java, C#), SQL (Postgres, MSSQL, Oracle, DB2, including triggers and stored procedures), NoSQL (Hbase, Hive, graph databases, Cassandra), Big Data platforms (Hadoop), Big Data tools (Spark, Lucene, stream processing eg. Flink), Machine Learning (Fundamental concepts, tools such as Tensorflow/Caffe/Keras)

Requirements:

  • Four years of IT work or project experience
  • 3-5+ years of experience in systems analysis or programming with emphasis in applications and systems architectural design and development, database and middleware technologies is preferred
  • 2-4 years of systems integration experience preferably in a real estate IT environment
  • Experience coordinating competing priorities and issues to facilitate appropriate client support and escalation of issues

Key Responsibilities for Sr. Analyst/Developer:

  • Develop, Support, and maintain all current I.T. Application Systems including:
    • Hands on Design, Development, and implementation of both new I.T. applications and enhancements of legacy ones
    • Project leadership role in overseeing both I.T. and business areas meet commitments to insure successful project implementations.  PMP certification would be desirable but not mandatory.
    • Meet on a regular basis with TOL User areas on EDI issues, new projects, and improvements
    • Suggest improvements to current systems to make them more cost effective and efficient.
    • Training of user areas (including I.T.) in new applications and changes to existing ones
    • Resolving any application problems with main ERP platform
  • Maintain safeguards of confidential company information
  • Act in the case of illness or vacation as backup to Senior Project Leader/Developer
  • Other duties and special projects as requested

Requirements for Sr. Analyst/Developer:

  • 5+ years Knowledge of AS/400 O.S. including RPGLE and associated application development tools
  • At least 5 years of senior project leadership skills
  • WEB development that is oriented to a Transactional ERP Environment
  • SQL knowledge and VB.net and ASP.net highly desirable
  • Knowledge of EDI Translation tools and mapping would be desirable
  • Proven record of accomplishment of senior application development and design (5+ Years)
  • At least 5 years of senior project leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently almost immediately in the position
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to handle difficult situations and pressure
  • Willingness to teach others Web development techniques
  • Strong cross application knowledge, emphasizing coordination, finance, supply chain and warehousing
  • Good organization and communication skills; ability to write and communicate clearly in English

The Linux Media Player Engineer will play a leadership role in advancing the company’s media player technology. The ideal candidate will have significant experience managing Linux distros as well as a broad knowledge of Linux based graphics technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and enhance a robust, Linux based media player
  • Work with other team members to implement product requirements and deliver high quality software
  • Quickly and efficiently troubleshoot issues in order to provide an outstanding support for customers; determine root cause and implement permanent resolutions for more intricate issues
  • Act as a technical resource to customer support, documentation and quality assurance as needed
  • Debug and resolve Linux driver hardware support and stability issues
  • Liaise with partners, suppliers and contractors as required
  • Work with QAs to define test procedures and trouble shoot issues

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in software development
